Turning WTF into Work the Fun

Fun. It’s not always the first word that comes to mind when you think about work. But that doesn’t mean you can’t introduce the good times to your office (when appropriate). Whether you channel your inner Michael Scott and call it the Party Planning Committee or you come up with a clever name – here at ADG, it’s the WTF (aka Work the Fun) Committee – having a dedicated team to make sure you can play as hard as you work makes an enormous difference in an often stressful environment. But where do you start?

Touring the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and Bloomberg Children’s Center

Thanks to longtime friend of the firm the Zachary Hebda Foundation, ADG had the incredible privilege of touring the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center and Bloomberg Children’s Center. We heard from research fellows about the groundbreaking cancer treatments and cures being developed and realized just how critical funding from private foundations like this one are to advancing the research. We often wonder where money given to charity actually goes. In this case, it has a direct, real-world impact on the kids fighting this disease. We left more committed than ever to continue our support for our friends at the Hebda Foundation as they work to save the life of every child with cancer.

These are the questions that contribute to sleepless nights for business leaders. Executives constantly grapple with cybersecurity risk — the threats, vulnerabilities, tools, solutions and the stakes. Understandably, they tend to look to the IT department, the primary protector of corporate networks and data, for answers.

After all, cybersecurity is a technology issue, right? At least that’s how most organizations view it — next-generation firewalls, anti-virus software, intrusion detection solutions, orchestration tools and credential management technologies.
