The word “Gumbo” is often translated to mean “community.” In the making of the stew, different characteristics meld together to make something altogether unique… a bit messy at times… and undeniably beautiful at others. It’s ADG’s job to cook up Creative Gumbo every day with an amazingly talented bunch of individuals that become one group—better, and far more creative, than the sum of its parts.
In 2005, we asked our Gumbo guests to show up with an awesome toy, in an effort to deliver a dose of holiday joy to the children of NOLA’s 9th Ward who were so adversely affected by Hurricane Katrina. A decade later, it’s become more important than the Gumbo itself! Christmas gets a whole lot better when the friends of ADG are involved.
For 20 years we’ve gathered to celebrate friends, clients, and life itself with our annual Gumbo & Mistletoe event. Each December, we gather with the most amazing people we know to recognize successes, count our blessings, and pay it forward to those in need. We gather together. We cook together. We savor together. That’s what makes this event so special.
Gumbo, live tunes, cigars, and brews. There’s no mistaking that this is indeed a party among parties filled with gratitude and goodness. The evening is what you make of it, but it’s always filled to the brim with riveting conversation, loads of laughter, and the greatest people we know.
